What happens in Vegas… (CES 2013)

Neon lights, glitzy shows and the latest in consumer electronics. Who could have resisted the opportunity to meet chip designers at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas? Not us!

As part of a joint effort with a couple of other companies, we organized what became known as Suite Innovation (https://www.facebook.com/SuiteInnovation), a CES event showcasing some of the latest technology companies from Singapore.

What would a chip design acceleration company do at CES, one might ask. We were wondering the same, until we found that many of our users, the companies which make the drones, the LED TVs, the game consoles, etc. were all attending CES in one way or another. not to mention industry media editors and journalists from across the globe.

And so began 5 days of meetings, interviews, investor networking and conferences calls that went by in a flash. I hardly stepped out of the meeting suite at all, except on the last day. Amidst the lights and performances on the Strip, the whole experience was a little surreal. Rather appropriate for Vegas, I'd say.
